BENGT MAGNUSSON

 

Bengt Magnusson

Born in Gothenburg Sweden in 1962. He graduated at the Academy of Music in his hometown and made is Debut concert as a soloist with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra - the Sweden National Orchestra playing Joaquín Rodrigo`s Concierto de Aranjuez.

 During the time of his studies he was awarded scholarship from Royal Swedish Academy of Music and many others. These scholarships took him to Vercelli, Italy where he studied with Angelo Gilardino.

 He begun his career as a concert player already as a student and since then he played both as soloist, with orchestra and with chamber groups.

 Now he has a busy schedule playing more than 200 concerts a year mainly in the Scandinavian countries. His main activity is as a soloist but his work also includes collaboration with some of Sweden’s most famous artists.

 He plays regularly in the most important Scandinavian TV and Radio programs and appears on more than 40 CD´s. 

 He has  been the President of the Jury of Ljungrenska Musiktävlingen, Sweden’s most important competition for classical musicians.

 Even if most of his work is in the Scandinavian countries he has played concerts in London, Rome, Paris, New York, etc.
